Struga (FYROM) 22-23 April 2010
The last AgriPolicy conference will take place in Struga (FYROM) on 22-23 April 2010. The conference will be built on the final results of AgriPolicy. Two main topics will be discussed:
- The future of Direct Payments in the enlarged EU: presentation of a study assessing the impact of future direct payment options in the 12 New Member States and the 8 Candidate & Pre Candidate Countries
- Future EU enlargement: presentation of 8 country reports on agriculture and agricultural policy in the Western Balkans and Turkey.
The first workshop will mainly build on the results of a study implemented between September 2009 and March 2010 by the AgriPolicy consortium. These activities included:
(1) A review of available literature on the impact of direct payment,
(2) Two case studies on the impact of direct payments on agricultural businesses,
(3) A simulation of future impact using AGMEMOD model,
(4) A survey on opinions and stakeholder perceptions of Direct Payments.
The second workshop aims at discussing the situation in agriculture and agricultural policy in the EU candidate and potential candidate countries. |
Sofia 28-30 September 2009
The third AgriPolicy meeting took place in Sofia (Bulgaria) on 28-30 September 2009. The meeting aimed at presenting the results of the second phase of the project (in particular a report on renewable energy) and at discussing the objective of the final phase (in particular a report on direct payment). A training session on forecasting and impact assessment was also organised during the first day. The objective was to help the participants to learn about tools used in the EU for forecasting and impact assessment. The training session included the following presentations:
- Availability and quality of agricultural statistics in the Western Balkans and Turkey by Tina Volk (AgriPolicy, Slovenia)

Introduction to Producer Support Estimate (PSE) measurement and its use in policy analysis by Catherine Moreddu (OECD, France)
- Systematisation and qualification of agricultural measures by Miroslav Rednak (AgriPolicy, Slovenia)
- Forecasting tools: introduction to existing models and modelling approaches by Hans van Meijl (LEI, NL)
- Economic analysis and market forecasts at DG Agriculture: methodology used and latest results by Robert M'barek (JRC IPTS, Spain)
- Impact of topical policies on the future of semi-subsistence farms – A multi-objective modelling approach by Gertrud Buchenrieder (IAMO, Germany)
The last day included a presentation on the CAP after 2013 has been given by Maciej Krzysztofowicz (DG Agriculture, unit L1 “Agricultural policy analysis and perspectives”) as well a presentation of the Czech Republic experience of EU presidency by Jaroslav Humpál ( Research institute for agricultural economics, Praha).

Berlin 19-21 January 2009
The second AgriPolicy conference took place in Berlin on 28,29 and 30 September 2009. The first day included a presentation of the AgriPolicy report on dairy chain analysis and a discussion on the contribution to the public consultation on the Green Paper for “Agricultural Products Quality”. Two workshops have been organised during the second day: one for New member State and another one for the Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries. The last day was dedicated to a training session on policy evaluation. Several representatives from the European commission participated to the event, including:

Paris 4-6 June 2008
This meeting aimed at launching the new AgriPolicy project (June 2008 to May 2010). Beside the programmation of the activity, several key presentations have been given by representatives from the European Commission, including:
- A presentation of the activities of the Slovenian Presidency by Emil Erjavec (University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical faculty)
- A presention of the the CAP health check by Mark Cropper (DG Agriculture,
unit L1 "Agricultural policy analysis and perspectives")
- An introduction to policy evaluation by Andreas Kolodziejak (DG Agriculture,
unit L4 "Evaluation of measures applicable to agriculture, studies")
- An introduction to foresight analysis by Elie Faroult (DG Research, "Economic and prospective analysis") |
Vilnius 27-28 March 2007
The last conference of the CEEC AGRI POLICY project (May 2005 to April 2007) was organised by the Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian Economics on 27-28 March 2007.
The conference gathered about 100 participants. More than 60 presentations have been given in 3 parallel sessions.
